CCC (Copyright Clearance Center) to Host Event Featuring Legal Experts Daniel Gervais and Erin Finlay, Who Will Discuss the Role of Copyright and Collective Management for Reducing Legal Uncertainty and Supporting a Balanced Marketplace
DANVERS, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CCC (Copyright Clearance Center), a pioneer in voluntary collective licensing, will host the live online event, ‘Collective Management: Bridging Copyright History and the AI Future’ on February 10 at 11:00 am ET for legal and technology professionals, policy makers, creators and publishers, and other stakeholders in the copyright ecosystem. The event will be hosted on LinkedIn Live and feature Professor Daniel Gervais, Vanderbilt University Law School, and Erin Finlay, Partner at Stohn Hay Cafazzo Heim Finlay LLP, as panelists.
Gervais and Finlay will join Catherine Zaller Rowland, CCC Vice President and General Counsel and former Associate Register of Copyrights at the U.S. Copyright Office, to discuss how collective licensing reduces legal uncertainty for businesses, ensures fair compensation for creators and other rights holders, and nourishes a balanced marketplace where creators, AI developers, and professional knowledge workers can all thrive.
Gervais currently serves as the Milton R. Underwood Chair in Law at Vanderbilt University Law School, where he is also director of the Vanderbilt Intellectual Property Program and co-director of the Master of Laws (LL.M.) Program.

“We are excited to bring together distinguished experts like Daniel Gervais and Erin Finlay to share their valuable perspectives on the importance of licensing, and collective licensing, in providing a powerful mechanism to make copyright work in the evolving field of AI,” said Tracey Armstrong, President and CEO, CCC. “I look forward to their discussion on what rightsholders and innovators can do today to prepare for tomorrow’s copyright landscape.”
