Tiger Woods’ TGR Foundation Announces New TGR Learning Lab Atlanta in Partnership With Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation
$20 million grant from Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation seeds initiative to transform the lives of thousands of Atlanta youth annually
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--With a $20 million grant from the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, Tiger Woods’ nonprofit, TGR Foundation, is launching a new TGR Learning Lab in Atlanta, Georgia to empower students to pursue their passions through education. The TGR Learning Lab will provide youth access to programs focused on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) educational enrichment, health and well-being and career and college readiness; it will also support the community through access to an inspiring environment and innovative programs that allow young people to discover their passions and unlock their unlimited potential.
“Nearly 30 years ago, my parents and I created TGR Foundation with the goal of making a positive impact in a young person’s life daily,” said Woods. “Through our TGR Learning Labs, we are providing access to safe spaces and programs that are bringing this dream to life. I am excited to bring a TGR Learning Lab to Atlanta, as it will allow us to empower more students.”
The grant announcement was made yesterday evening by Arthur Blank during a charity event hosted by TGR Foundation, which launched its 30th anniversary year presented by EY US. All proceeds from the event will be utilized to develop and scale new programs and expand into more under-resourced communities, enabling TGR Foundation to reach more young people with deeper impact.
“I have immense respect and admiration for Tiger, not only for his legendary career, but for the way he continues to lead with purpose off the course,” said Arthur M. Blank, chairman, Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. “It’s truly an honor to partner with someone who believes so deeply in the power of education and community. Seeing the impact of TGR Foundation, from the Learning Labs to the hundreds of thousands of students empowered through its programs, is incredibly inspiring and I look forward to seeing the impact the TGR Learning Lab Atlanta makes on our community.”
The grant will be used to transform Capitol View Elementary School, built in 1928, but not operational since 2013, into the TGR Learning Lab Atlanta. The learning facility will primarily serve students enrolled at the Atlanta Public Schools. It will offer free, high-quality educational programs that provide opportunities, experiences and support to thousands of students each year.
“This partnership represents what’s possible when visionary philanthropy and public education come together,” said Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Bryan Johnson. “We are grateful to TGR Foundation and the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation for investing in Atlanta’s students by transforming an underutilized property into a dynamic learning space that delivers innovative STEAM programming and hands-on, experiential learning that sparks curiosity, creativity, and real-world problem solving. This work reflects our shared commitment to improving student outcomes while strengthening the communities we serve.”
Since 2006, TGR Learning Labs have made a difference in the lives of more than 217,000 young people, driving transformational change in their lives and communities. Tiger Woods’ vision is to create safe spaces that inspire students to learn, grow and chase after their dreams. The flagship Learning Lab opened in Anaheim, California (2006) followed by the Smilow Woodland TGR Learning Lab in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (2025). Future Learning Lab locations include Lulu’s Place in Los Angeles, California (2027) and Augusta, Georgia (2028) in partnership with Augusta National Golf Club. The renovation and transformation of the 1928 school building into a TGR Learning Lab is currently expected to open for occupancy by late 2027.
