The publication’s editors say, “this 500 is robust with lawyers who inspire us and will shape the law for decades to come.”

“This honor belongs to the entire trial team,” Ms. Dean said. “The results we achieved in 2025 were only possible because of the depth, discipline and shared commitment across our firm.”

Both Ms. Dean and Mr. Branham were honored for plaintiff personal injury work by Lawdragon and both helped achieve landmark court victories in 2025 in cases involving clients who contracted mesothelioma, an incurable cancer linked to asbestos found in talc products.

In December, Ms. Dean and her co-counsel representing Cherie A. Craft, who was diagnosed with mesothelioma after years of using J&J Baby Powder, won a $1.559 billion verdict from J&J and a subsidiary. The award by a Baltimore jury included $1.5 billion in punitive damages.

Mr. Branham is leading several cases involving companies who have sought to flee U.S. jurisdictions after selling asbestos into the United States for decades. Those companies, CAPE Asbestos Company and related entities as well as Asbestos Corporation Limited, both companies that mined and sold raw asbestos to workers throughout the nation, are responsible for untold death, disease and suffering among asbestos workers and their families.

The firm also won multimillion-dollar mesothelioma judgments in 2025 in Washington state, Oregon, Massachusetts and Louisiana.

Both Ms. Dean and Mr. Branham have been recognized annually by Lawdragon and Texas Super Lawyers, and the firm has been recognized in multiple years by The National Law Journal for achieving some of the year’s largest jury awards.

Lawdragon uses nominations, recommendations and staff research to compile the 500 Leading Lawyers in America guide. You can find the 2026 honorees here.
