AdvancedMD Helps Modern MOjO Cut Time Spent on Insurance Eligibility by more than 80%

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AdvancedMD, a provider of cloud-based healthcare software for independent medical practices, today announced it has helped the Minnesota-based mental health practice Modern MOjO improve efficiencies, drive productivity, and rapidly scale its services. Since implementing the AdvancedMD unified practice management and EHR solution, Modern MOjO reports that it has reduced no-show rates by as much as 30%, and cut the time spent on insurance eligibility tasks by more than 80%, from 40 hours a week to only five. The practice has also significantly enhanced its clinical workflows with customizable charting templates available within the AdvancedMD platform.

According to DeSchepper, Modern MOjO can now rapidly process thousands of claims a month, something it could not do using manual processes. The practice has also kept its 60-, 90-, and 120-day accounts receivable to 1%.

Across the U.S., there is a substantial shortage of mental health providers. A 2024 Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) report revealed more than a third of the U.S. population resides in areas that lack adequate access to mental health services. Shortly after opening its doors, Modern MOjO grew quickly because of the lack of mental health providers in the area. The practice now has two offices, employs ten clinical providers, and serves a diverse demographic with approximately 70% of patients enrolled in Medicaid, Medicare, or government-assisted medical programs.

In addition to reducing no-show rates and accelerating payor processes, the customizable charting templates available within the AdvancedMD platform have enhanced the practice’s clinical workflows.
