The CVE Program’s mission is to identify, define, and catalog publicly disclosed cybersecurity vulnerabilities. As a newly authorized CNA, Altera is empowered to assign CVE IDs to vulnerabilities within its defined scope and publish CVE records that provide consistent, industry-recognized descriptions of security issues. This designation strengthens Altera’s commitment to transparency and collaboration in cybersecurity, ensuring that customers, partners, and the broader technology community can quickly identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in Altera products and services.

“Becoming a CVE Numbering Authority reinforces our dedication to security best practices and our responsibility to our customers,” said Venkat Yadavalli, head of Business Management at Altera. “This step ensures that Altera continues to uphold the highest standards of product integrity and customer trust.”

About the CVE Program

The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE®) Program is an international, community-driven effort that relies on partners around the world to identify, assign, and publish cybersecurity vulnerabilities. CVE Records are used by information technology and cybersecurity professionals to enable consistent, coordinated responses to vulnerabilities. The CVE List—built by CNAs like Altera—feeds into the U.S. National Vulnerability Database (NVD), facilitating rapid discovery and correlation of vulnerability information to better protect systems and infrastructure from attacks.
