Wealthspire Launches Integrated Platform Across Wealth, Institutional, and Retirement Markets

Newly formed firm unites five established businesses under one platform, advancing a shared commitment to client service and vision for the future

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--With the completion of Madison Dearborn Partners’ acquisition of five NFP businesses from Aon on Oct. 30, 2025, Wealthspire has established itself as a newly-formed independent firm to serve clients across the wealth, institutional, and retirement markets.

The firm brings together Wealthspire Advisors, Fiducient Advisors, Newport Private Wealth, Wealthspire Retirement Advisory (formerly a segment of NFP Retirement), and Ground Control Business Management, integrating capabilities across individual wealth management, institutional advisory, and business management services. Collectively, the organization oversees more than $580 billion in assets under management or advisement,1 establishing Wealthspire as one of the most comprehensive and multidisciplinary advisory platforms in North America.

Michael LaMena, formerly chief executive officer (CEO) of Wealthspire Advisors, will serve as CEO of the combined and expanded Wealthspire organization. He will be joined by a deep and talented management team seeded with strong experienced leaders from each of the predecessor companies as well as a team of accomplished former NFP senior executives. Carl Nelson, formerly executive vice president of mergers & acquisitions at NFP, has been appointed President of Wealthspire, bringing deep strategic growth and transaction experience to the firm after more than two decades with NFP.

“This is a defining moment for our organization and for our industry,” said LaMena. “By bringing together leading firms with complementary strengths, we’re creating a unified platform built for the future that draws on deep expertise, advanced technology, and a shared commitment to serving clients. This is about unlocking our collective potential and building something greater together.”

The combined leadership team is focusing their immediate efforts on integration to execute on the vision of a platform that meets the full spectrum of client needs — from individual and family wealth management to institutional consulting and business management services.

“I’ve dedicated my career to helping great businesses come together to create more value for clients, teammates, and partners,” said Nelson. “What we’re building at Wealthspire is a continuation of that mission. Our focus now is disciplined integration and as always, putting clients first.”

The launch of Wealthspire marks the beginning of a multi-phase brand evolution, culminating in a unified identity under the Wealthspire name. With a strong foundation of shared history, deep expertise, and an experienced leadership team, Wealthspire is well-positioned to set a new standard for integrated advisory services across the wealth, institutional, and retirement landscape.
