Matt Carlucci Returns to Morris, Manning & Martin as Corporate Partner

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP is pleased to announce the return of Matt Carlucci to the firm’s Corporate practice in Washington, D.C., where he will focus on middle-market mergers and acquisitions, venture-capital financings, and strategic transactions for emerging-company and technology clients. Carlucci rejoins the firm as counsel effective October 27 and will become a partner at Taft | Morris Manning on January 1, 2026, coinciding with the completion of the firms’ merger, which takes effect at the end of this year.

Carlucci returns to Morris Manning from Reed Smith LLP, which he joined earlier this year. He previously spent nearly seven years in Morris Manning’s Atlanta office, before relocating to D.C. His representative experience includes advising growth-stage and middle-market clients through financings, acquisitions, and strategic exits, with notable transactions including the sale of Linux Academy to A Cloud Guru and the acquisition of Bridge2 Solutions by Intercontinental Exchange.

“Coming back to Morris Manning truly feels like coming home,” said Carlucci. “This firm combines everything I value, including sophisticated work for innovative clients, a genuine, collaborative culture, and a platform that’s perfectly positioned to serve the middle market. The merger with Taft only strengthens that foundation, and I’m excited to help grow our presence in D.C., Atlanta, and beyond.”

Based in Washington, D.C., Carlucci will collaborate closely with colleagues in Atlanta and across the broader Taft | Morris Manning platform. He sees strong opportunities to build the firm’s presence in D.C.’s growing venture and technology ecosystem while continuing to serve his longstanding network throughout the Southeast.

“Matt’s return is a reflection of what makes Taft | Morris Manning so special – a culture grounded in integrity, collaboration, and opportunity,” said Robert J. Hicks, firmwide chairman and managing partner of Taft. “He brings outstanding skills and a deep knowledge of the corporate and technology sectors, along with strong ties to our clients and communities in both D.C. and Atlanta. His homecoming symbolizes the energy and momentum we feel as we build our future together.”

Carol Weld King, managing partner of Morris Manning’s Washington, D.C. office, added: “Matt’s return is a tremendous boost for our D.C. team’s ability to service clients in the region’s growing venture and tech community. Matt embodies the collaborative spirit that defines Taft | Morris Manning and represents the kind of next-generation leadership that will drive our continued success.”

“We’re thrilled to welcome Matt back,” said Simon Malko, managing partner of Morris Manning. “He was an important part of our teams in both Atlanta and D.C., and we’re excited to reconnect with a valued colleague who knows us well and shares our values. As we enter this next chapter with Taft, Matt’s experience and relationships will be instrumental in growing our corporate practice across markets.”
