KinderCare Champions Nationwide Access to Quality After-School Care

KinderCare supports the Afterschool Alliance’s Lights On Afterschool initiative, hosting events at Champions sites nationwide to celebrate and advocate for enriching after-school programs

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--KinderCare Learning Companies, (NYSE: KLC) (“KinderCare”), a leading provider of high-quality early childhood education and care, is proud to participate once again in Lights On Afterschool, a national initiative led by the Afterschool Alliance that highlights the critical role after-school programs play for working families and their communities.

Through Champions, KinderCare’s before- and after-school offering, the company is joining schools and families nationwide to raise awareness of the ongoing need for affordable, high-quality after-school care. The effort includes site visits and events across the country that invite lawmakers and community leaders to experience firsthand how after-school programs support children’s learning, safety, and well-being.

“At a time when many families struggle to find reliable care that fits their schedules, after-school programs are a lifeline, and Champions is proud to provide care that complements the school day learning that our school partners provide through their talented teachers, administration and staff,” said Dan Figurski, President of Champions and KinderCare for Employers. “Quality after-school programs don’t just support working parents – they give children the chance to explore new interests, build confidence, and develop lifelong skills. Events like Lights On Afterschool remind us that learning doesn’t end when the school bell rings.”

As part of the initiative, KinderCare is meeting with legislators nationwide to showcase how public-private partnerships can strengthen access to care and advocate for expanded out-of-school time programming to expand opportunities for more families.

Since its launch in 2000, Lights On Afterschool has become a hallmark of the national afterschool movement, drawing attention to the critical need for continued investment in out-of-school time learning. KinderCare is proud to stand alongside the Afterschool Alliance and its partners in championing policies and partnerships that ensure every child has access to safe, enriching care after the school day ends.

Champions provides engaging learning experiences in a safe, convenient out-of-school time program at schools and sites across the nation. For more information about KinderCare’s Champions before- and after-school program and summer camps, visit www.DiscoverChampions.com.
