MEDIA ADVISORY: Long Term Care Workers to Rally at Premier’s Office on Wednesday

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Long Term Care workers from across Nova Scotia will rally outside Premier Houston’s office in Westville on Wednesday. They are gathering to raise awareness for ongoing bargaining, which aims to bring a nearly two-year expired contract up to date.

The rising cost of living and inflation, as well as stagnant wages in the sector, have made Nova Scotian long term care workers the lowest paid in Atlantic Canada across almost all classifications. They are fighting for fair wages, as well as improved recruitment and retention to ease the burden of chronic understaffing and improve care time for residents.
