Exelon Rings Nasdaq Opening Bell to Celebrate 25 Years of Impact, Innovation, and Community Commitment

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Exelon (Nasdaq: EXC), one of the nation’s largest utility companies, rang the opening bell at the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square to commemorate the company’s 25th anniversary. The milestone event honored the company’s legacy of delivering customers affordable and reliable energy, investing in communities, and supporting an inclusive, mission-driven workforce.

Exelon President and CEO Calvin Butler was joined at the ceremony by several long-serving employees who have been with Exelon for 25 years, representing the dedication and resilience that have powered the company forward, as well as members of Exelon's Executive Committee.

“Ringing the Opening Bell at Nasdaq marks 25 years as Exelon and more than two centuries of service in the communities we call home. From our roots in the 1800s, including BGE’s founding in 1816 as the nation’s first gas utility, to a modern energy company serving 10.7 million customers, our story has always been about people,” said Calvin Butler, President and CEO of Exelon. “I am grateful to our more than 20,000 employees who show up every day for our customers, keeping energy affordable and reliable. With customers at the center of every decision, we are building the grid for the next generation and strengthening the neighborhoods we serve. Here’s to the next 25 years and beyond.”

The bell-ringing ceremony was broadcast live and will be shared with employees, stakeholders, and the public as part of Exelon’s year-long celebration of its 25th anniversary. The event reflects both the company’s enduring legacy and its ongoing commitment to innovation, equity, and a clean energy future.
