AGY and Orion Compounding Co-Develop Advanced Nylon PA 12 with S2 Glass® Fiber Reinforcement

AIKEN, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AGY, the leading U.S. manufacturer of high-performance glass fiber reinforcements, and Orion Compounding, a leader in custom-engineered thermoplastic compounds, have co-developed a next-generation Nylon PA 12 reinforced with AGY’s S2 Glass fiber. The new material delivers a unique combination of strength, toughness, and processing versatility.

This collaboration brings together AGY’s proven S2 Glass fiber and Orion’s compounding expertise to address growing demand for high-performance thermoplastics across aerospace, automotive, electronics, and medical device markets. The result is a reinforced PA 12 compound that significantly enhances mechanical performance while maintaining the lightweight processing benefits of nylon resins.

Key Performance Enhancements of the S2 Glass fiber PA 12 Include:
