New facility will expand accessibility for HIV/AIDS specialty services, free STI/STD prevention and treatment services, primary medical care and access to non-profit pharmacy services

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the world’s largest, non-profit, HIV/AIDS service organization, is opening its first healthcare center in Tennessee at 4299 Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, TN. On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, starting at 10:30am CST, AHF will be joined by an array of local civic leaders and elected officials for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

WHY:	HIV infections remain a major concern for Memphis and Shelby County. Preliminary data from the Tennessee Department of Health indicates the infection rate for people aged 15 to 24 in Shelby County increased by about 50% from 2022 to 2023.

Open Monday – Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm, the new AHF healthcare center will offer primary care as well as specialty care for those living with HIV/AIDS. The new facility will also provide accessibility to STI testing, PrEP services and the convenience of AHF’s non-profit pharmacy, where $0.96 cents of every dollar earned is invested back into HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment services in the local community. With a commitment to putting people before profit, AHF provides access to its services regardless of one’s ability to pay.

As stated on June 27^th by former Shelby County Health Director, Dr. Michelle Taylor during an interview with WREG, “We are number two for new HIV infections only behind Miami, Florida, and we are ahead of Atlanta, Georgia, which is third … that lets you know that right now we have a major issue with HIV and AIDS in our community.” Taylor continued saying, “We’ve seen some increases, especially among our young people. We’ve seen about a 50 percent increase in new HIV infections among folks 15 to 24 in the county, and currently, we have about 7,500 people in Shelby County living with HIV.”
