Four Prime Healthcare Illinois Hospitals Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as High Performing

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Four Prime Healthcare hospitals in Illinois were named High Performing in the 2025–2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals ratings - the highest distinction awarded by U.S. News for specific procedures and conditions. These four Illinois hospitals join the group of 18 total Prime Healthcare hospitals recognized by U.S. News. The ratings are based on objective, data-driven measures including patient outcomes, mortality rates, complications, and the level of nursing care. The High Performing rating is a testament to hospitals that consistently deliver care at or above the national standard, which evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 22 procedures and conditions.

Four Prime Healthcare hospitals in Illinois earned High Performing ratings from U.S. News for 2025–2026, reflecting excellence in patient care and Prime’s ongoing investments to expand services and strengthen healthcare across the state.

These recognitions reflect continued progress following Prime Healthcare’s recent acquisition of eight Illinois hospitals from Ascension and underscore the clinical excellence across the newly integrated system.

High Performing Hospitals and Recognized Conditions:

Saint Joseph Medical Center – Joliet
Recognized for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, COPD, Heart Arrhythmia, and Kidney Failure. These honors reflect strong performance in patient survival, discharge to home, and procedural volume. The hospital’s multidisciplinary care teams and adherence to evidence-based protocols contribute to consistent, high-quality outcomes.

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital – Chicago
Recognized for Heart Failure, Kidney Failure, Pneumonia, and COPD. Evaluations considered metrics such as nurse staffing, complication rates, and hospital readmissions. The hospital’s coordinated approach to chronic disease management supports improved outcomes in medically complex patients.

Saint Joseph Hospital – Elgin
