Gateway Fiber Celebrates Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony in Pittsfield, MA

PITTSFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gateway Fiber marked a significant milestone in digital connectivity with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday morning outside Pittsfield City Hall, officially launching the company’s ultra-high-speed fiber internet service for residents and businesses across Pittsfield.

The event brought together city officials, community leaders, business owners, and residents to celebrate the arrival of Gateway Fiber’s 100% fiber-optic internet, an advancement poised to transform how Pittsfield connects, works, learns, and grows. Pittsfield Mayor Peter M. Marchetti joined Gateway Fiber representatives in welcoming enhanced digital equity efforts and new consumer choice to the city.

The day’s festivities included networking opportunities, presentations from city leadership, and informational sessions with Gateway Fiber representatives, who answered questions about the service and its benefits for Pittsfield’s homes and businesses.

“Today’s ribbon cutting is a celebration of Pittsfield’s future on a new fiber network,” said Gateway Fiber’s Derek Leffert. “We are honored to invest in this vibrant community and deliver the ultra-fast, ultra-reliable internet that empowers families, businesses, and schools to help bring about more digital equity.”

With the launch, Gateway Fiber reaffirms its commitment to bridging the digital divide and strengthening local economies across Massachusetts and beyond.

Leffert added, “Our mission is to provide straightforward pricing, world-class support, and a customer experience that sets a new standard. We look forward to being a trusted partner as Pittsfield thrives in the digital age.”

As part of its ongoing regional expansion, Gateway Fiber’s new network replaces traditional cable- and telephone-based internet, delivering blazing-fast symmetrical speeds, unmatched reliability, and expanded access for the entire community.
