Dwight City Group Breaks Ground on Historic Adaptive Reuse Project in Pottstown, PA

UPPER DARBY, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dwight City Group (“DCG”), a real estate investment and asset management firm, began developing the luxury conversion of Hanover Street Mill in Pottstown, PA. Located at 274 North Hanover Street, the expansive early-20th-century warehouse and factory is being reimagined into 85 thoughtfully designed one- and two-bedroom apartments.

"This is the kind of project we want to do over and over again. I wish I had 10 Dwight City Groups.”

Blending industrial character with contemporary living, the project will feature a 10,000-square-foot rooftop deck with lush green space and garden-inspired landscaping, offering sweeping views of the surrounding mountain range. Residents will also enjoy premium amenities, including a state-of-the-art fitness center, office space, a café, indoor parking, and a resident lounge. The first units will be available for lease within the next 12 to 18 months.

Dwight City Group hosted a groundbreaking event and tour of the project to a crowd of local elected officials from the Borough, County, and State on July 2nd.

Justin Keller, Borough Manager of Pottstown, attended and said, “This project marks another significant step forward in Pottstown’s revitalization. The 85 new apartments will help address our growing demand for quality housing in walkable, transit-accessible neighborhoods, while also expanding the Borough’s tax base through the transformation of a long-underutilized site.”

“We’re excited to welcome new residents and look forward to the positive ripple effects this development will have on our downtown and broader community. More people living within walking distance of downtown means greater support for local businesses and a more vibrant, sustainable local economy,” said Keller.

Peggy Lee-Clark, Executive Director of Pottstown Area Economic Development (PAED), commented, “I’m delighted to be celebrating this important milestone with Dwight City Group. The opportunity this development will provide for Pottstown’s economy, both now and in the future, is vital to the strengthening of the Downtown Area. PAED is grateful to Dwight City Group for ‘picking’ Pottstown and their ongoing commitment to bringing this project to fruition.”

"This is the kind of project we want to do over and over again. I wish I had 10 Dwight City Groups,” she added in remarks featured by The Pottstown Mercury.
