Bing Liem of FUJIFILM North America Corporation Named President of International Photographic Council

VALHALLA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FUJIFILM North America Corporation announced today that Bing Liem, division president, Imaging Division, was named president of the International Photographic Council (IPC) for the 2025-2026 term.

The IPC is a multinational, non-profit, non-commercial organization founded in 1974 and its members range from across the photographic and imaging industry worldwide. In 1983, the United Nations officially recognized IPC as a Civil Society Organization formally associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications, and their mission is to promote “peace through photography, the universal language.”

“I’ve been actively involved in the IPC for well over 20 years, and I’ve always been deeply committed to their mission,” said Liem. “The chance to help shape the future of this organization, advocate for all areas of the photographic industry, and highlight the powerful role of photography as a universal medium for communication is an incredible opportunity that I am both passionate about and eager to embrace.” In this volunteer role, Liem will be responsible for oversight of IPC operations and will chair the executive board which consists of six additional members of the photography community.

“Fujifilm’s global group purpose is giving our world more smiles - it’s our commitment to bringing diverse ideas, unique capabilities, and extraordinary people together to change the world,” Liem continued. “This purpose aligns perfectly with my goals as incoming IPC president - to build upon the strong foundation and legacy that this organization has established over the past 51 years to help give more smiles through the photographic medium. I aim to ensure IPC’s longevity and growth by focusing on bringing in new members throughout all levels of the organization who can help drive the organization forward. Together, we will continue to evolve its communication methods, enhance the content of our meetings, and strengthen its overall value proposition, paving the way for sustained success well into the future.”

Outgoing IPC president, Andy Marcus, added, "Reflecting on my years as President of the International Photographic Council, I am immensely grateful for the growth and success we have achieved. Inspired by the visionary foundation laid by our founder, James L. Chung, our dedicated board has worked tirelessly to more than double the attendance at our annual luncheon. This achievement speaks volumes about the passion and commitment resonating within our community. As I pass the leadership torch to Bing Liem, division president of FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Imaging Division, I am confident that together, we will continue to honor Mr. Chung's legacy and propel IPC into a bright and impactful future.”

Liem joined Fujifilm in 2006, after working for AGFA Gevaert for 22 years. He has been in the role of division president at Fujifilm for the past 3 years, moving into that role from various leadership roles across Fujifilm. At the helm of the Imaging Division, he oversees all operations of the company’s imaging presence in the Unites States as well as Central and South America. Liem is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, where he studied photography and business, and he is a resident of Ridgefield, Connecticut, along with his wife and two children.
