Lynx Appoints James H. Dickinson, Former Commander of U.S. Space Command, to its Board of Directors

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lynx Software Technologies, Inc. (“Lynx” or the ”Company”), a leader in foundational, open architecture software solutions for edge computing, today announced the appointment of James H. Dickinson, a retired Army general officer and distinguished military leader with extensive expertise in space, missile defense, and strategic operations, to its Board of Directors.

Jim joins the board of Lynx following a decorated military career spanning nearly four decades. Most recently, he served as the Commander of U.S. Space Command from August 2020 until January 2024. In December 2019, he assumed duties as the Deputy Commander of U.S. Space Command. Prior to this role with U.S. Space Command, Jim held several prominent leadership positions, including Commanding General of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Chief of Staff of U.S. Strategic Command, and Director for Test at the Missile Defense Agency. He has commanded at every level in the U.S. Army, from battery to combatant command, holding numerous awards and decorations.

Dickinson is a graduate of Colorado State University, where he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He also holds a Master of Science in Operations Research and Systems Analysis from the Colorado School of Mines and later earned a master’s degree in strategic studies from the United States Army War College.

“We are honored to welcome Jim as a member of our Board of Directors,” commented Tim Reed, Chief Executive Officer of Lynx. “The timing of his appointment coincides with expected generational investments in space and missile defense systems, notably the Golden Dome. His deep expertise in these key areas as well as his strategic military leadership will be invaluable as we continue to develop scalable, secure, and certifiable software solutions for mission-critical edge platforms across commercial space, defense, commercial aerospace, and critical infrastructure end-markets.”

“Lynx’s core end-markets are rapidly evolving, with an increasing emphasis on software-defined systems which ensure the security and operational effectiveness of mission-critical platforms,” said Dickinson. “Lynx’s commitment to innovation, standards-based products, and industry-leading technologies positions it to meet these challenges and deliver solutions beyond the speed of relevance. I look forward to working with Tim, the Lynx management team, and OceanSound Partners to contribute to the company’s continued growth and success.”

“Jim’s extensive military and strategic leadership and his track record of successful partnership across traditional and emerging industry players will be instrumental in advancing Lynx’s mission to support customers in developing and deploying mission-critical platforms and systems that meet the highest standards for performance, safety, and security,” said Joe Benavides, CEO & Founder of OceanSound Partners.
