Cigar TV Debuts on FreeCast and Roku, Prepping to Launch on Over 29 Additional Streaming Platforms

FreeCast launching new channels to multiple FAST services creates powerful new opportunities for marketers

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FreeCast is announcing the launch of Cigar TV, with the new FAST channel debuting on FreeCast’s own service, Roku Channels, as well as CigarTV.com. Cigar TV is powered by FreeCast FAST, a program for content creators, allowing them to quickly create and launch FAST channels, not just on FreeCast’s service, but on multiple streaming platforms. Cigar TV is in various stages of preparation for launch across over 29 US and international FAST services.

Cigar TV launches ahead of the Premium Cigar Association Show in New Orleans. This 24/7 global streaming channel is dedicated to the cigar industry, showcasing the culture, craftsmanship, and lifestyles of a global community of cigar aficionados. The channel’s original programming features in-depth product reviews, exclusive interviews, premier cigar destinations, behind the scenes looks at the agricultural and manufacturing processes, and coverage of live events.

Specialty FAST channels like Cigar TV present a new opportunity for content creators and advertisers. As the way the world consumes media changes, many industries can benefit from diversifying beyond old traditional mediums. Meanwhile, the disruption in the TV space has made it more affordable to reach customers with video than ever before, as consumers embrace streaming and particularly free ad-supported TV (FAST) services.

William Mobley, FreeCast’s founder and CEO, discussed the opportunity presented by Cigar TV and future channels like it. “Some industries are still a little bit old school, they reach their customers through brick and mortar retail and print magazines, and the cigar industry is just one notable example. We think there’s a huge opportunity, not to replace that, but to supplement that with the latest streaming TV and mobile technology, reaching an audience as large as 90 million on Roku alone, and several times that as we roll out to other platforms. Brands and entire industries can reach new likely customers that may not be interacting with older mediums, and for a product like cigars, we can give advertisers confidence that their content is reaching appropriate audiences that are of age to purchase the product.”
