Alight Marks Onboarding of 200th Pension Risk Transfer Transaction

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alight, Inc. (NYSE: ALIT or “Alight”), a leading cloud-based human capital and technology-enabled services provider, announced the successful onboarding of its 200th transaction for Pension Risk Transfer (“PRT”), marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to delivering comprehensive pension administration solutions for the largest organizations.

Alight’s PRT solution integrates top-tier, data-driven digital tools, and back-office administration to deliver a seamless transition from settlement to payment. The combination of Alight’s technology and expert decision support provides a user-friendly experience, enabling insurers to grow their businesses while managing costs and risks, and delivering the high-touch service that policyholders expect.

Since launching the PRT business in 2019, Alight has experienced significant growth with the company successfully closing over 60 unique deals in 2024.

The range of scale and complexity across the PRT transactions demonstrates Alight's commitment and adaptability in supporting the evolving needs of its insurance partners. Engagements to date consisted of:

  • Scale ranging from less than 10 to over 70,000 policyholders per transaction
  • 41% of the onboarding transactions included deferred lives, where employees or former employees had yet to begin receiving their benefits, reflecting an increasing market trend
  • Over 300,000 high-touch and high-tech policyholder interactions per year

“As we celebrate the onboarding of our 200th PRT transaction, we remain dedicated to providing comprehensive solutions that meet our clients’ needs and support insurers in managing their PRT portfolios effectively,” said Rob Sturrus, Chief Client Officer and President of Administration Solutions at Alight. “With Alight’s PRT solution, policyholders gain secure access to their benefits with intuitive tools and real-time support that simplify the process. From pre-hire to retire, Alight enables organizations to gain a benefits advantage, while building a healthy and financially secure workforce.”
