Kinetic Technologies™ Announces High-Efficiency 6A Step-down Voltage Regulator with I2C Interface

KTB8375: 4.5V - 24V Input Buck Regulator Combines Ultra-Fast Transient Response with High Efficiency

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kinetic Technologies, a leader in power management solutions, announces the launch of the KTB8375, a high-performance 6A synchronous buck regulator designed for industrial, telecom, networking, computing, and battery-powered applications. KTB8375 integrates high-side and low-side MOSFETs, delivering high efficiency and fast transient response in a compact footprint.

With an input voltage range of 4.5V to 24V, an output range from 0.55V to 6V, the KTB8375 employs Kinetic’s proprietary Advanced Adaptive On-Time (AOT) control to achieve high output voltage accuracy while eliminating the need for external loop compensation, shrinking PCB area and limiting component count.

Optimized for power efficiency, fast transient response and small size, the KTB8375 takes advantage of low on-resistance integrated Power MOSFETs and a proprietary control scheme. Peak efficiency exceeds 94% with 12V input and 3.3V output, saving power and reducing system thermal burdens. An I2C interface allows control of various settings, enables, and fault readback. A wide range of switching frequencies can be programmed, up to 2MHz, further shrinking external components for space-contained applications. A full suite of protection features includes built-in cycle-by-cycle current limit, short circuit protection, input/output UVLO, output over-voltage, and thermal shutdown protection.

Erik Ogren, Senior Director of Product Marketing at Kinetic Technologies, says, “Kinetic’s latest DC-DC product offering is focused on the high-performance segment for AI Datacenter, Communications and Industrial markets. A proprietary advanced AOT control scheme enables ultra-fast transient response which is critical for advanced SoCs and digital loads. Furthermore, when compared to widely used regulators in the market, KTB8375 uses less output capacitance, in some cases less than half, for the same voltage droop, saving PCB area and component count.”

KTB8375 is available and shipping now. Please contact your local Kinetic Sales Office for more details. Visit the Kinetic Technologies website for more information.
