The Mutual Group Appoints Julie Brown as Vice President, Head of Product and Underwriting Services

Veteran Professional Brings Three Decades of Commercial Insurance Experience

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TMG Insurance Services, LLC (“The Mutual Group” or the “Company”), an integrated insurance operations platform serving the mutual industry, announced that Julie Brown, an experienced insurance executive, has joined as vice president, head of product and underwriting services. Brown brings to The Mutual Group over three decades of commercial insurance experience and a diverse set of cross-functional skills encompassing organizational leadership, strategic initiatives, distribution management, and underwriting.

In this newly created role, Brown will provide strategic leadership and oversight for product, underwriting operations, pricing and underwriting governance. Reporting to Coleman Johnson, senior vice president and chief underwriting officer, she will help shape and develop the Company’s product strategies and dynamic underwriting capabilities.

Brown joins The Mutual Group from Mobilitas Insurance, a subsidiary of CSAA Insurance Group, where she served as executive vice president, commercial insurance. Previously, Brown held various executive-level distribution, underwriting, and operations roles at IAT Insurance Group and Liberty Mutual. She began her career at Safeco Insurance, where she served in roles of increasing seniority across a diverse set of business functions. Brown is a graduate of the University of California, Davis.
