Pega Earns High Marks in Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2025 Corporate Equality Index for Third Consecutive Year

Annual independent report benchmarks progress on LGBTQIA+ workplace equality

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), The Enterprise Transformation Company™, today announced it received high marks from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation in its annual Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. This year, Pega received a score of 95 out of 100, with the highest scores possible in the spousal & partner and transgender-inclusive benefits and corporate social responsibility categories.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is the educational arm of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people. The CEI showcases how U.S.-based companies are promoting LGBTQ+ friendly workplace policies in the U.S. and abroad. The CEI rates companies under four central pillars: non-discrimination policies across business entities; equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families; supporting an inclusive culture; and corporate social responsibility.

Pega offers a wide range of benefits and policies to support its LGBTQ+ employees, including:

  • Comprehensive non-discrimination policies to ensure a fair and equitable work environment for all employees;
  • Inclusive benefits, including 20 weeks of parental and adoption leave for primary caregivers, backup care, and gender transition support;
  • DEI&B learning opportunities, including coursework on topics such as workplace inclusion, LGBTQIA+ and disability inclusion, and inclusive meetings;
  • The ability to self-identify gender and pronouns in Pega's HR system;
  • A highly active Pride@Pega employee resource group with strong executive sponsorship.

More information on Pega’s initiatives is available in the company’s 2023 Impact Report.

Quotes & Commentary:
“At Pega, we stay true to our values – Innovative, Inclusive, Passionate, Engaging, Genuine, and Adaptable – with a shared commitment to inspiring an environment that drives incredible innovation,” said Kate Parente, chief people officer at Pega. “We are honored to be amongst those recognized by the Human Rights Campaign for the third consecutive year – a clear reflection of Pega’s dedication to fostering an inclusive workplace.”

“The CEI is so much more than a score on paper. For decades businesses have relied on the CEI as a tool for transparency and leveling the playing field for all workers, making sure LGBTQ+ people and their families can share in fair, respectful and supportive workplaces and benefits,” said RaShawn “Shawnie” Hawkins, SHRM-CP, HRCF senior director of workplace equality. “As conversations evolve on corporate America’s approach to diversity, equity and inclusion, year-over-year growth in CEI participation is evidence of a business community that largely recognizes the responsibility and value in upholding equity and inclusion. Our goal at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation is to work in a spirit of partnership with companies, providing educational resources and leading benchmarking. The work of the CEI is to help businesses to expand their consumer base and attract top, innovative talent by supporting the LGBTQ+ community.”
