Woodside Teams up With Baker Hughes and Bechtel to Pedal for a Purpose

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Woodside Energy, Baker Hughes and Bechtel have teamed up to go the distance and raise money for United Way of Greater Houston in a tricycle race. The race raised $150,000 for United Way and featured executives and racing teams from each of the three companies and United Way.

“Houston is home to our international business and we’re proud to give back to the community through United Way of Greater Houston,” said Woodside Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer International Daniel Kalms.

“Our signature tricycle race has become a highlight of our annual United Way campaign and this year we are grateful for the generosity of Bechtel and Baker Hughes in donating to our campaign and joining in the fun to give back to the Houston community.”

“Events like the tricycle race don’t just make giving fun, they give our community a reason to rally around a shared cause,” said United Way of Greater Houston Chief Advancement Officer Dr. Angel Harris. “We’re so grateful to Woodside, not just for their own team’s engagement and generosity, but for bringing even more leaders together to help our neighbors land on their feet and stay there.”

Woodside has partnered with United Way for 36 years and hosts an annual campaign for employee fundraising and volunteering opportunities at United Way agencies. Woodside matches employee contributions dollar for dollar and last year contributed a total of $667,000 to United Way.
