The company is also now treating patients virtually throughout Texas. This news comes on the heels of a banner year for knownwell, which has included the acquisition of Alfie Health, an AI-based online precision medical and obesity management clinic, and a $20 million Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) Bio + Health with participation from existing investors including Series Seed Lead, Flare Capital Partners.

Recent studies have underscored the need for improved obesity care as the region faces an alarming obesity rate. According to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Texas has one of the highest obesity rates in the United States with one-third of the population experiencing obesity.
