Kuwana City, Mie: Concierge Service for Foreign Residents Opened in Kuwana City Hall

Various initiatives launched in aims of becoming a “Foreigner-Friendly City”

KUWANA, Japan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Beginning mid-June, Kuwana City started a “Concierge Service for Foreign Residents” providing support, such as daily life consultations, in multiple languages. This will be the first step toward reaching our goal of becoming a “Foreigner-Friendly City” by mitigating the difficulties for non-Japanese speakers to conduct administrative procedures and receive services.

The Concierge Service offers:

  • Support to conduct procedures at Kuwana City Hall
  • Daily life consultations
  • Daily life orientation providing information necessary for living in Japan (scheduled to provide info via SNS)

The concierge is located in front of the south entrance on the 1st floor of Kuwana City Hall. Operating hours are from 9am to 5pm on Mon. to Fri. (excluding public holidays and year-end and New Year holidays).
Supported languages are Portuguese, Vietnamese, and English. Other languages will be supported by Multi-language Interpretation Call service.

Kuwana City will take positive actions to invite foreign businesses, promote migration and resettlement of foreigners, and provide opportunities for Kuwana residents to learn foreign languages. This initiative is the first step toward the realization of our concept “Kuwana City, a comfortable place for everyone to live in.”
