Cambium Learning Group Named a Five-Time Winner at the 2024 Merit Awards for Business and Human Resources and a 2024 Aetna Workplace Well-Being Award Winner

Edtech company and its CEO honored for exceptional leadership, its people experience team, employee benefits, and business excellence

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cambium Learning Group, the education essentials company, today announced that it is a 2024 Aetna Workplace Well-being Award winner and a five-time winner at the 2024 Merit Awards. The company is recognized across three categories in the Merit Awards for Business and two categories in the Merit Awards for Human Resources.

“At a time when internal company initiatives are just as important as external ones, our People Experience (PX) team takes pride in ensuring each employee feels seen, valued and supported in all the work they do,” said Melissa Yates May, chief people officer at Cambium Learning. “Our CEO, Ashley Andersen Zantop, and other leaders have made a conscious effort to develop people-centric initiatives and provide the necessary support to lift employees to the next level, and it’s an honor to see their efforts recognized through these awards.”

Merit Awards for Business

The Merit Awards for Business named Cambium a Silver Winner for Business Excellence and named Chairman and CEO Andersen Zantop a two-time Silver Winner for Leadership Excellence and Executive Leadership. The applications were judged based on submissions that addressed leadership, best places to work, corporate excellence, emerging business, and privately or publicly held companies. Recognitions include:

  • Business Excellence: Cambium is committed to delivering highly effective technology solutions that empower teachers, students, administrators and families to improve academic outcomes and provide more equitable access to learning. In 2023, Cambium served more than 30 million students and more than 2.7 million teachers worldwide.
  • Executive Leadership and Leadership Excellence: Honored as a Silver Winner in two leadership categories, CEO Andersen Zantop has fueled the company’s people-driven purpose by cultivating a strong, passionate, and empathetic culture at Cambium. Under her leadership, Cambium continues to innovate and make a meaningful impact on the K-12 communities it serves.

Merit Awards for Human Resources

The Merit Awards for Human Resources named Cambium a Gold Winner for HR Department of the Year and Silver Winner for Remote Work & Flexible Work Arrangements. The applications were judged based on submissions that addressed leadership, innovation, and positive work environment. Recognitions include:

  • HR Department of the Year: Cambium’s PX Department prioritizes human-centric initiatives that allow each employee to feel seen, valued and supported. This includes implementing internal feedback loops that help the company understand its employees at each stage of their employment cycle, championing a Remote First work environment, prioritizing gender equity, and providing generous paid time off programs, including volunteer service time and disaster relief time to ensure each employee’s needs are met.
  • Remote Work & Flexible Work Arrangements: Initially implemented across all functions in response to the pandemic, Cambium’s Remote First work model was later strengthened and codified to support the company’s modern workforce. The model allows employees to work with their manager to determine where and how they work, greatly impacting employees’ happiness and quality of work and helping to support the company’s goals.

Aetna Workplace Well-being Awards

The Aetna Workplace Well-being Awards named Cambium a Silver Winner. The award recognizes Cambium’s well-being program, which the company developed to support the health and happiness of its employees. Cambium offers benefits and programs that focus on social, mental, physical, and financial wellness for its employees and their families, including motivational webinars, wellness challenges, virtual counseling or coaching, gym memberships, wellness incentives, and financial workshops.

“All six of these awards are a testament to and recognition of the incredible work of the Cambium Employee community,” said Andersen Zantop, chairman and CEO of Cambium Learning Group. “Each day our employees show leadership in creating and embodying the type of workplace culture we can all thrive in while pursuing our purpose.”
