Fakchex: New Tools Help Americans Deal with What's Real in Upcoming Election

What’s true and what’s “Fake News”?

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Three new tools are now available to help Americans separate fact from fiction, from professional communicators and researchers using fact-based resources.

“This information is researched and presented to be fact-based, non-biased, and to the point,” said Joy Scott, one of the editors of Fakchex. “Most people don’t have the time to do this research, so we’ve done it for them as a public service. All Fakchex programs and resources are free. We invite people to read them and to share them within their family and their networks. To find solutions to the problems that beset us, we must first deal with what is actually happening. Then we can move forward to create the positive future we all want.”

Scott heads the award-winning communications firm, Scott Public Relations. She is the author of “Magenta Nation,” a book about how to communicate to bring Americans together, and is also a speaker and writer on how to combat disinformation.

Fake news and disinformation are a huge problem in the United States, becoming particularly widespread with the advent of social media and its targeting ability 20 years ago. According to Statistica two out of three Americans believe fake news causes a great deal of confusion, almost one in four has accidentally shared fake news, and only one in five are confident of their ability to recognize fake news.
