Church Mutual® Earns Top Score for Disability Inclusion

MERRILL, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Church Mutual Insurance Company, S.I. (a stock insurer)1 is proud to be recognized among the Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion for a second straight year. The company received a top score of 100 on the 2024 Disability Equality Index, improving upon its 2023 score of 90. The index is a comprehensive benchmarking tool that scores companies on a scale of zero to 100, with those earning 80 and above recognized as a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion.

Church Mutual’s participation in the Disability Equality Index helps the company benchmark its progress and ensures its policies and programs align with best practices in disability inclusion.

“This valuable initiative provides us with a framework to measure our efforts and identify areas for improvement,” said Pam Stampen, senior vice president and chief people officer. “We are pleased with earning the designation as a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion, but we also know this work is a journey and not a destination. We will continue to strive for excellence in our efforts to create an inclusive workplace for all.”

People with disabilities represent more than 1.3 billion individuals worldwide. Disability is a natural part of the human experience, and it crosses lines of age, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status and other demographics. The index exists to help businesses make a positive impact on the unemployment/underemployment of people with disabilities, while also helping companies create long-term value for employees and shareholders.

The Disability Equality Index was launched in 2015 in the United States as a joint initiative of Disability:IN and The American Association of People with Disabilities and is acknowledged today as the most robust disability inclusion assessment tool in business.
