The Standard Promotes Ted Schmelzle to Assistant Vice President of Retirement Plans Services

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Standard announced today that Ted Schmelzle has been promoted to assistant vice president, Retirement Plans Services.

Schmelzle joined The Standard in 2023 as second vice president in Retirement Plans during the acquisition of the retirement plans recordkeeping business from Securian Financial. Schmelzle has 28 years of financial services industry experience and brings a wealth of expertise and strong relationships to his role at The Standard, previously holding leadership positions in Retirement Plans and Corporate Legal at Securian Financial. In his new role, Ted will be head of Relationship Management, Pooled Employer Plans and Retirement Plans regulatory consulting teams at The Standard.

Schmelzle earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint John’s University and a Juris Doctor degree from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
