Atlanta Nonprofit Hosts Multi-Day Adaptive Sports Competition for Children, Adults and Veterans in Atlanta

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BlazeSports America, a nonprofit organization founded after the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games and a leader in the field of adaptive sports and recreation, is hosting its fourth annual Peachtree Paragames event on June 14 and 15. The Peachtree Paragames, presented by Wheels, is a multi-sport event that provides the continuation of competition for the developmental to elite Paralympic athlete. The competition will include archery, track and field, swimming and free sports clinics offered throughout the weekend and will take place in the heart of Atlanta.

“We are proud to host the fourth annual Peachtree Paragames this year,” states Dawn Churi, Executive Director of BlazeSports. “We are lucky to have an incredible presenting sponsor in Wheels, who believes, like we do at Blaze, that it is important to provide our adaptive athletes with more competitive opportunities and allow for them to embrace their competitive spirit. The Paragames allows for us to introduce new athletes to adaptive sports, and we are looking forward to welcoming those new families into the BlazeSports community.”

This multi-sport, multi-day competition, created as a tribute to the first Paralympic Games held in Atlanta, Georgia during the 1996 Olympics, aims to showcase Paralympians and their talents, while also educating and encouraging youth, adult and veteran athletes of all skill levels to join the BlazeSports America family.

The event, which takes place at Woodward Academy, will begin Friday, June 14th at 5:00 with swimming. The competition will continue Saturday, June 15th at 7:15 a.m. with track and continue with archery and field competitions until 5:00 p.m. In addition to the competitions, BlazeSports will be hosting free clinics focusing on cornhole and air riflery, with a BlazeTOTS Play clinic that highlights Blaze’s offerings for toddler programs.
