Valley Presbyterian Hospital Earns Hospital Safety Grade “A” in Latest Leapfrog Assessment

VAN NUYS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In its Spring 2024 Hospital Safety Grade review conducted by the Leapfrog Group (www.leapfroggroup.org), Valley Presbyterian Hospital earned the top grade of “A.” The Hospital Safety Grade, widely regarded as the gold standard measure of patient safety, is given twice a year to participating hospitals seeking objective and transparent evaluation of their performance.

One of the core values of Valley Presbyterian Hospital is to get better, every day with regards to improving the quality and safety of care. While this latest grade is strong evidence of how that core value is affecting change and making a difference to patients, it is one of many accomplishments that the organization has earned over the past several years in the areas of patient safety, patient satisfaction and employee engagement.

“Earning an 'A' grade from the Leapfrog Group demonstrates what happens when you have the deep and sustained commitment of staff, management and leadership to the overall goal of improving the quality and safety of care we provide our community.” -- Greg Kay M.D., Chairman of the Board, Valley Presbyterian Hospital.

“It takes the actions of everyone in the organization to earn this kind of top recognition and I’m proud that our people can take a moment to celebrate. In the end, we know our jobs are not done and we must continue to get better, every day so that our patients and our community get the best care possible.” – Gustavo Valdespino, President and CEO of Valley Presbyterian Hospital.
