Suffolk Promotes Industry Veteran Jim Stanley to Executive Vice President, Los Angeles Division Manager

National builder chooses proven leader with a wealth of local experience to lead the utilization of innovative technology and data solutions to address regional challenges

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Suffolk, one of the largest and most innovative real estate and construction enterprises in the country, is announcing the promotion of Jim Stanley to Executive Vice President, Division Manager of Suffolk Los Angeles, to lead the continued expansion of the company’s presence in high growth sectors including aviation, higher education, affordable housing and hospitality. Mr. Stanley has been instrumental in leading the region in Suffolk’s implementation of technology and data solutions that are disrupting the built world.

In his expanded role, Mr. Stanley will be responsible for progressing the diversification of Suffolk’s impressive portfolio of projects in the region and managing his teams’ project delivery from pursuit to completion, ensuring client satisfaction, strong safety conduct, and on-schedule and on-budget builds. He will prioritize pursuit of projects that address local challenges, such as increasing the supply of affordable and student housing, and other high demand sectors like entertainment, healthcare, travel and hospitality. Mr. Stanley will steadfastly champion operational excellence and elevate its self-perform capabilities, ensuring consistent and predictable outcomes. He will report to Tim Stroud, National President and Chief Operating Officer at Suffolk.

In his 16 years at Suffolk, Mr. Stanley has consistently led growth in Southern California. Originally joining as a project manager, he quickly rose through the ranks becoming Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer in 2018 and 2020, respectively. He has overseen several high-profile projects in Los Angeles, including 1 Hotel West Hollywood, STAY AKA West Hollywood and numerous K-12 projects throughout Los Angeles. Mr. Stanley also oversaw his team’s implementation of the Suffolk Owner’s Dashboard, a proprietary tool that provides clients with access to real-time data and predictive analytics to help ensure transparency and efficient builds.

Mr. Stanley was recently named a Los Angeles Times B2B Commercial Real Estate Visionary for 2024. The Visionary Award recognizes executives in Southern California who are actively steering the sector toward growth and delivering unique projects. Mr. Stanley was selected for his leadership, contributions to major projects, and dedication to his community.
