Mutual of Omaha Ranks Among Forbes Best Employers for Diversity 2024

OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mutual of Omaha has been named on the Forbes list of Best Employers for Diversity 2024. Mutual is ranked 6th among 500 companies and is listed 2nd among companies in the insurance industry.

This award is presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The full award list can be found on the Forbes website.

The Best Employers for Diversity 2024 were identified in an independent survey from a sample of over 170,000 U.S.-based employees working for companies employing at least 1,000 people within the U.S. The evaluation was based on three different criteria:

  • Personal Recommendations: Employees were asked to give their opinions on a series of statements regarding age, gender, ethnicity, disability, LGBTQIA+ and general diversity in their current workplace.
  • Public Recommendations: Participants were also given the chance to evaluate other employers in their industries that stand out either positively or negatively regarding diversity.
  • Key Performance Indicators: Extensive research was carried out to evaluate how companies fared across a range of diversity-related best practices. This included things like representation, accountability and communication, internal initiatives and external involvement.

“We are ecstatic to be recognized on the Forbes list of the Best Employers for Diversity,” said Gail Graeve, vice president of Social Impact at Mutual of Omaha. “We believe an environment where each person feels a sense of belonging and respect is simply the right thing to do – and ultimately helps us serve our customers better because it helps ensure every associate can be at their best at work.”
