MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Memphis announced today that visitors will soon have a new tour option available to them when visiting this spring. Launching May 1, the all-new Inside the Graceland Archives Ultimate VIP Tour will give guests a glimpse into the archival work that goes on behind-the-scenes at the home of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Whether it be conservation work on one of Elvis’ dazzling jumpsuits or cataloging one of more than 90,000 photos, or prepping for an upcoming touring exhibition, visitors will get an inside, up-close look at what it takes to preserve all the king’s things.
The Graceland Archives is home to more than 1.5 million artifacts and is one of the most extensive collections of any single entertainer. The Graceland Archives Department works diligently to preserve Elvis’ history through the collections of artifacts, documents, audio/visual and photographs. With only 10% of the Elvis items from the Graceland Archives currently on display, the entire collection consists of over 90,000 photographs, 5,000 textiles, thousands of documents and a large collection of furniture, musical instruments, awards, automobiles, and other artifacts associated with the personal life and career of Elvis Presley.
