Metronet Set to Launch Killeen Construction, Deploying Fiber Optic Internet

Killeen Set to Power Forward with Expansion of Metronet’s Texas Fiber Optic Network

KILLEEN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Metronet announced today that residents and businesses throughout the City of Killeen will soon have access to Metronet’s ultra-high-speed 100% fiber optic internet. Through Metronet’s multimillion-dollar investment, Killeen will join other Texas communities in experiencing the benefits of multi-gigabit infrastructure. Metronet has officially commenced pre-construction activities in Killeen in preparation for its 2-year construction process, with the first customers in Killeen expected to be connected by the fall of 2024.

Earlier this month, Metronet also began construction in neighboring Copperas Cove. Upon completion, Killeen and Copperas Cove will proudly join the nation's leading internet hubs as a Certified Gigabit City Powered by Metronet.

As construction prepares to begin, Killeen residents will see Metronet trucks throughout the area. Residents will receive communication by mail about construction activity in their neighborhood 30 days prior to starting. Additional messaging, such as yard signs, will also be provided to notify residents of when construction is beginning in their neighborhood. Metronet crews are identified by ID tags and branded Metronet vehicles. Residents and businesses interested in Metronet services may visit metronet.com/iwantfiber to indicate interest and to receive updates on construction.
