Banc of California Named by Newsweek as One of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women 2024

Bank earns five out of five stars in the small-size company category

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Banc of California, Inc. (NYSE: BANC) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary and premier relationship-focused business bank, Banc of California, has been recognized by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women 2024. The list recognizes the top 1,000 companies in the United States based on their performance across various metrics crucial to women in the workforce including compensation, work-life balance and proactive management on diversity. Banc of California is one of only four companies in the banks category to earn five out of five stars.

“Banc of California is thrilled to be recognized as having a great workplace for women,” said Jared Wolff, CEO of Banc of California. “We are committed to ensuring our workplace is a diverse, inclusive and supportive environment where all our colleagues have an opportunity to succeed and grow their careers. Several years ago, we created our IDEA Council — which stands for Inclusion, Diversity, Engagement & Awareness — so we could ensure that all voices are heard. Following completion of our transformational merger with PacWest Bancorp, this remains a top priority and is an important element of our success.”

America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women is based on a rigorous study by Plant-A Insights, a leading data research firm, with input from more than 142,000 woman employees nationwide and a pool of 848,000 company reviews. The study is one of the largest independent assessments of workplace environments in America.

“Despite advancements in workplace equality, women still encounter significant barriers in terms of leadership opportunities, fair compensation and other forms of discrimination,” said Newsweek Global Editor in Chief Nancy Cooper. “Recognizing and addressing these challenges are crucial for progress. It is important to highlight companies that are leading the way in fostering a culture of equality and respect. To that end, Newsweek and Plant-A Insights are proud to introduce America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women.”
