Emily, an aspiring surgeon, heard about the sweepstakes while attending a local chapter meeting of the American Medical Student Association, the oldest and largest independent association of physicians-in-training in the United States. “I’ve always tried to be conscious of every opportunity presented to me, especially as the time to truly get everything together for the medical school admissions process is getting closer and closer. Yet, I still could have never imagined something this great happening to me,” Emily said.

Emily said she received the alert just as she was about to unwind after a long day of classes. “I had a super busy day because I was moving out of my dorm. After sweating and stressing all day, I got back to my parents’ house and went to take a nap and saw the notification on my phone. I’m not sure why the email stood out enough to break me from my bed, but I just felt like it was something different. When I realized exactly what was going on, I was in absolute disbelief!” But then reality hit, she said. “The first people I told were my parents, who were understandably skeptical. But once we realized it was for real, the tears of excitement began rolling.”

“With this opportunity, it really feels like Kaplan has my back and it just makes everything seem so much more obtainable. I just cannot wait to get a head start on my future and I could not be more grateful for Kaplan,” she added.

Over the past two decades, Kaplan has held numerous sweepstakes and contests to help students further their educational and career goals, awarding tens of thousands of dollars in the process, in addition to free test prep courses for admissions exams like the GRE®, GMAT®, LSAT®, and MCAT®. This particular sweepstakes was open to all enrolled college students in the United States; Kaplan drew one name at random, with the winner being notified shortly thereafter.
