Stable Road’s “8 Days of Giving” fundraiser gives $1.6m in aid to evacuees

MAUI, Hawaii--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Stable Road Foundation continues to drive dollars to its Israel-focused Hannukah fundraiser, “Eight Days of Giving,” thanks to efforts from its partner Global Empowerment Mission.

“We are delighted with the progress Stable Road’s fundraising efforts have made, and look forward to using the funds and matching grant to further support Israelis suffering due to the Hamas-Israel War,” said Michael Capponi, founder of Global Empowerment Mission. “Every dollar donated is multiplied tenfold on the ground - which means the $100,000 we’ve already raised with Stable Road Foundation yielded the delivery of $1.6 million in aid received by refugees and displaced persons on the ground.”

Stable Road Foundation, founded by entrepreneur and philanthropist Ed Freedman, will match donations to Global Empowerment Mission up to $250,000 this calendar year. All dollars raised will directly benefit those on the ground in Israel – as directed by local volunteers, kibbutzim and community organizations.

“Hanukkah is both a celebration of the achievements of the Jewish people in troubled times and an opportunity for reflection,” said Ed Freedman. “I am taking this opportunity to rededicate my philanthropic efforts to the people of Israel and encourage my community to do the same in these trying times.”

As of December 11, GEM & its partner SmartAID Impact have helped 15,300 evacuees and supported 2,500 host families. They’ve also delivered 3,500 hot meals daily for southern families, and arranged for a weekly cargo plane that has so far delivered 200 tons of essentials across six cities and 32 kibbutzim thanks to 215 volunteers running three fully operational warehouses. More than 50 containers of relief are headed to Israel in the coming weeks - in support of seven long-term stay facilities maintained for fleeing families.

“I strongly believe that aid to Israel is integral to the country’s future - and the safety of our people for generations to come,” added Freedman. “Donations and community aid will play an incredibly important role as Israel rebuilds.”

The more you donate, the more good work we can do for the people of Israel. Please contribute as much as you can - our people need your help.

Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) was founded in 2010 to provide disaster relief to communities in need around the world. Over the years, the organization has conducted 355 missions in 52 countries. It is one of the few nonprofits in the world to hold a 99% rating on Charity Navigator.

Stable Road Foundation is also currently working together with Global Empowerment Mission to provide aid to Maui after the Lahaina fires, one of the worst disasters in U.S. history. Stable Road Foundation is matching all donations up to $500,000, please donate today.
