BioConnect’s MedixSafe Solution Wins the 2023 EMS Innovation Award for Its Narcotic Safe Retrofit Kit

MEMPHIS, Tenn. & TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--State & Federal Compliance requirements are an ongoing challenge for EMS Agencies today, especially the evolving requirements related to narcotic storage and record keeping. BioConnect has designed the MedixSafe Retrofit Fit solution to help with the financial and operational challenge of aging infrastructure in the face of increasing stringent compliance requirements to continue as a licensed provider of controlled substances.

The MedixSafe Retrofit Kit allows EMS Agencies, Pharmacies and other Healthcare facilities, many who have had safes installed for years, to keep their existing safes and easily transition to MedixSafe’s latest technology. The EMS Agency can easily replace the authentication device on the existing safe door and therefore benefit from higher levels of authentication (including Biometrics & Mobile Multi-Factor Authentication), compliance reporting and ongoing updates delivered through a cloud architecture.

The entire solution has been designed to allow the EMS Agency to self-install with convenient activation tools including a mobile set-up wizard, a web console to configure the safe within the EMS agencies specific IT requirements and a how-to-video for installation and activation. Solutions are also available for third party safes that use industry standard lock bodies to reduce the upgrade costs while upgrading to a centrally managed platform for higher levels of authentication, compliance reporting and ongoing updates delivered on a cloud architecture by a SOC2 certified organization.
