Accelera by Cummins announces global eMobility and electrolyzer business leaders in the pursuit of a zero-emissions future

COLUMBUS, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Accelera™ by Cummins, the zero-emissions technology business segment of Cummins Inc. [NYSE: CMI], has named Brian Wilson as General Manager – eMobility and Andreas Lippert as Vice President and General Manager – Electrolyzers, continuing to strengthen its ability to lead customers through the energy transition. Wilson and Lippert each have several decades of industry and technology expertise to drive Accelera toward its mission of securing a sustainable future for the industries that keep the world running.

“I am proud to announce these appointments within the Accelera leadership team as we continue to position the business to win in the electrification and hydrogen markets,” said Amy Davis, President of Accelera. “This represents the continued evolution of Accelera as we drive technical innovation and optimize our support of customers on their decarbonization journey.”

In an expanded role, Wilson will now lead Accelera’s new eMobility business, which provides a wide range of battery electric vehicle (BEV) products. Today this includes batteries, e-axles, traction systems, auxiliary controls and power, and electric powertrain integration. The newly combined eMobility business brings together key technologies and support teams to provide a more seamless experience for customers while driving innovation across the BEV space. Wilson previously served as General Manager of Accelera’s Electrified Components business and helped initiate the recently announced battery cell manufacturing joint venture with Daimler Truck and PACCAR.

Wilson joined Cummins in 2008, taking on a variety of roles throughout his tenure, including in corporate strategy, the growth office, and as General Manager of the global bus business. He also held previous roles at Interbrand and ATA Airlines. Wilson earned a bachelor’s degree in acoustical engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Indiana University with a focus in finance and marketing.

Lippert most recently served as Vice President of Accelera Engineering and was instrumental in developing technology infrastructure and optimizing technical collaboration. With a combination of deep technical expertise and business acumen, Lippert will drive the electrolyzer business, which Cummins has identified as its most significant outgrowth opportunity, to scale its industry-leading technical innovation and support the growing global green hydrogen economy.

Lippert joined Cummins in 2020, leading its growth office. With more than 20 years of international leadership experience in technology innovation, engineering, product management, and corporate strategy, he held previous roles at General Motors, General Electric and INNIO. Lippert earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and his doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Wilson and Lippert will continue to work alongside Alison Trueblood, General Manager – Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Technologies, in an experienced and dynamic group of leaders at the helm of Accelera’s diverse zero-emissions product portfolio.
