Navajo Transitional Energy Company Announces 2024 Community Benefit Fund Award Winners

NTEC Grants $250,000 to Charitable Programs that Support the Navajo Nation

FARMINGTON, N.M.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Navajo Transitional Energy Company (NTEC) is proud to announce the 2024 Community Benefit Fund (CBF) Award Winners. Non-profit organizations that provide services to the Navajo community were granted between $2,500 and $20,000 each, for a total of $250,000, for projects planned in 2024. Projects range from providing youth programs, to building a cemetery for veterans, to repairs and weatherizing of Navajo homes. NTEC will celebrate the winners with a luncheon at San Juan Country Club on Thursday, December 7, 2023. Recipients will receive their checks and recognition for their service to the community at the event.

NTEC established the Community Benefit Fund in 2015 to support programs and services for the Navajo community. With the 2024 grant recipients, NTEC has awarded more than $2M in microgrants to date. NTEC donates $250,000 each year to non-profits for projects on the Navajo Nation that may not have been funded otherwise. Past recipients have used funds to build playgrounds, buy clothes for children, and fight addiction. This is the first year that NTEC has included non-certified chapters to also apply for funding. Many great organizations applied and thirty-two were selected.
