Arajet Inaugurates Route Between Santo Domingo and Montreal

New route expands low-fare airline's presence in Canada, offering direct flights four times a week

MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Arajet, the low-fare airline in the Caribbean, officially launched its second route in Canada, with direct flights between Santo Domingo and Montreal. This new route further expands the airline’s network of destinations and marks a significant step in connecting Quebec and Latin America.

Arajet offers the new route four days a week — Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays — departing from the Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to Santo Domingo’s Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) at 11:10 a.m. EST and from Santo Domingo to Montreal at 06:00 a.m.

Víctor Pacheco, Founder, and CEO of Arajet, emphasized the pride felt by the entire Arajet team with the launch of this new route in Canadian territory: "Arajet continues to change the history of commercial aviation, as the first and only Dominican airline to connect Montreal with Santo Domingo, the continent's new hub. Montreal travelers can now connect to Santiago in Chile, Medellin, Sao Paulo, Cartagena, Aruba, Saint Marteen, Kingston and Curacao, at the lowest market prices with the best onboard service in the region.”

“The Dominican Republic Embassy is thrilled to inaugurate this new air route by Arajet,” said Frank Hans Dannenberg Dominican Republic Ambassador in Canada. “This marks a significant step in the interconnection between Quebec, the largest French-speaking province in Canada, and Latin America, through the Dominican capital of Santo Domingo. It makes the mobility between the two regions more fluent and frequent, and strengthens the international relations between Canada and the Dominican Republic.”

“ADM Aéroports de Montréal is delighted to welcome this flight from YUL to Santo Domingo, offered by our new airline Arajet,” said Yves Beauchamp, President, and CEO of ADM. “This direct service opens a new door to the beaches, culture, architecture, and history of the capital of the Dominican Republic. While ADM is constantly striving to provide its passengers with the widest possible range of air services, Arajet has come up with an offer in the under-exploited niche of low-cost flights to the Caribbean, demonstrating once again that Montréal is a destination of choice for airlines.”

With a flight duration time 4 hours and 30 minutes, travelers from Montreal who fly Arajet to Santo Domingo will enjoy the beauty and historical importance of its Colonial Zone, the "Primacy of America" and a World Heritage Site. The Dominican Republic offers its warm people, and its beautiful tropical beaches at 20 minutes from the airport such as Boca Chica, Guayacanes, Juan Dolio, also Bayahibe just at 45 minutes away. Arajet also offers a service from the airport to Punta Cana at no additional cost, and it is a trip of less than two hours.

Arajet has an extensive route network of 22 destinations in 16 countries, more than 150 connections in North, Central and South America, interconnecting the entire continent at the lowest fare with industry-leading operational safety. Arajet expects to fly more than 7 million passengers in the next five years through its Santo Domingo Hub, with flights and fares for the benefit of the region's travelers. Tickets can be booked at www.Arajet.com.
