Domo hosts data competition for university student teams with $50,000 in prizes

SILICON SLOPES, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today Domo (Nasdaq: DOMO) announced the finalists for The Domo for Higher Education Student Case Competition. These 10 teams will compete for the winning title and more than $50,000 in prizes and swag.

Competition teams are composed of undergraduate and graduate students from some of the top colleges and universities across the country. Teams were given current, real-world challenges from Domo customer Regional One Health, a Level 1 Trauma Center and national leader in healthcare. The student teams were instructed to use the Domo platform and Regional One’s information to develop unique solutions to some of the most pressing problems faced in healthcare today.

“Through this competition, college students are solving real-world problems that have a meaningful impact,” said Mohammed Aaser, chief data officer, Domo. “What excites me the most is how these students are applying their skills with data and technology to improve healthcare operations and access to care. A hands-on experience like this allows students to master their craft while building confidence to take on challenging problems.”

“At Regional One Health, we leverage data on a daily basis to make critical decisions for our business and are committed to helping to prepare the future data storytellers of the world,” said Niranjani Radhakrishnan (Jani Rad), CEO at Regional One Health Solutions, LLC. “This opportunity is giving students the ability to learn, experience and problem solve in the field of data analysis and Regional One Health is honored to partner with Domo on their Higher Education Case Competition.
