FIS Named Among America’s Greenest Companies by Newsweek

Key facts

  • FIS has been named one of America’s Greenest Companies in the second annual Newsweek rankings.
  • The rankings were based on four criteria: greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, waste generation, and commitment and disclosures.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FIS® (NYSE: FIS), a global leader in financial services technology, has been named one of America’s Greenest Companies by Newsweek.

The annual list evaluates companies based on four criteria: greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, waste generation, and commitment and disclosures.

Recently, FIS completed a formal climate risk assessment using the framework of the Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), the findings of which will help the company make better informed decisions as it evaluates climate-related risks and continues to integrate climate-related solutions into its product sets. The recognition from Newsweek nods to FIS’ strong commitment to reducing emissions and overall impact on the environment.

“FIS’ commitment to its clients extends to its global communities, and that is why we are taking an active approach to achieving our environmental goals,” said Stephanie Ferris, CEO and President at FIS. “Lead with Integrity is one of our core values and the driving force behind our environmental, social and governance policies that create sustainable advancements while limiting negative environmental impacts. We’re proud of this recognition because it affirms that we are taking the right steps toward a greener future for our colleagues and the communities where they live and work.”
