Beneva Implements Guidewire Cloud to Strengthen Claims IT Operations

Largest Canadian mutual insurer leveraging Guidewire Cloud to enhance business processes and customer service

QUEBEC CITY & SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Beneva, the largest mutual insurance company in Canada, and Guidewire (NYSE: GWRE) announced that Beneva successfully deployed Guidewire ClaimCenter on Guidewire Cloud to power and simplify its claims business and related IT operations, adapt quickly to changing supply chain conditions, and deliver insights to its advisors and policyholders. The company, born from the coming together of SSQ and La Capitale (which have been Guidewire customers since 2010 and 2014, respectively), migrated its self-managed ClaimCenter environment onto Guidewire Cloud. Beneva is currently migrating its self-managed Guidewire PolicyCenter and Guidewire BillingCenter environments onto Guidewire Cloud as well. With the completion of that project, the company will be a full Guidewire InsuranceSuite customer on Guidewire Cloud.

“The cloud, specifically the leading-edge Guidewire Cloud technology, is at the heart of our strategy to continue to be the largest mutual insurance company in Canada,” said Beneva Information Technology Vice President Property and Casualty Insurance Ėric Marcoux. “With Guidewire Cloud, we realize business value more quickly by staying updated on Guidewire’s latest technology and innovations to enhance business processes and customer service.”

Marcoux added, “Thanks to our strong partnership with Guidewire, we finished the migration project on time and on budget. The transition to ClaimCenter on Guidewire Cloud was seamlessly managed for our operations and staff and within the first 4 months of going live, we were already able to take a version update which lived up to the promise of updatability with limited system downtime and impact to our business.”

“We thank Beneva for entrusting Guidewire Cloud as the technology foundation for its business strategy and success now and into the future, beginning with the enhancement of its claims operations,” said Guidewire Chief Customer Officer Christina Colby. “We congratulate Beneva on their successful ClaimCenter migration project onto Guidewire Cloud and look forward to helping the company remain the largest mutual insurance company in Canada and continue its mission of bringing together its mutualist values to protect people by providing caring insurance coverage that lets policyholders focus on what matters most.”
