CoStar Group Sponsored Successful Keep Virginia Beautiful Tree Planting Event

CoStar Group continued its investment in the Richmond community by participating in this year’s ArborDayRVA festivities on Sunday, October 29th

Volunteers from across the company participated in tree planting as part of Keep Virginia Beautiful’s fall “LOVE VA” campaign

RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--This Sunday, October 29th, CoStar Group (NASDAQ: CSGP), a leading provider of online real estate marketplaces, information and analytics in the property markets, partnered with Keep Virginia Beautiful, Capital Trees, and the City of Richmond's Parks, Recreation, and Community Facilities (PRCF) to plant 50 trees in Canoe Run Park.

This year’s event is a part of CoStar Group's presenting sponsorship of Keep Virginia Beautiful's fall "LOVE VA" campaign to encourage community beautification, litter prevention, and recycling activities in communities throughout the Commonwealth. The planting involved dozens of volunteers from CoStar Group, eager to foster beautiful public spaces in the city they call home. In consultation with Richmond city staff in Urban Forestry and PRCF, volunteers planted primarily native trees surrounding the vita course trail, including black gum, river birch, swamp white oak, and pignut hickory. As they grow, these trees will build a shade canopy around the trail, creating a safer, greener, and more beautiful experience for park goers.

“As one of the largest employers in the city, CoStar Group is thrilled to continue to invest in the Richmond community by helping keep our city’s parks green and vibrant," said Lisa Ruggles, CoStar Group’s Senior Vice President of Global Operations. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community and help keep Richmond’s parks beautiful.”

This volunteer work is part of CoStar Group’s ongoing investment in sustainability throughout the Richmond community, including the construction of a new, LEED Platinum certified headquarters. The City of Richmond has been key to CoStar Group’s success and expansion, attracting top-tier talent and a vibrant community. CoStar Group looks forward to finding new opportunities to give back to the community; building a bigger, brighter, and more sustainable Richmond in the months and years to come.
