Fernando Soto Will Lead a Strategy Focused on Providing BBH’s Advisory Services to Families and Private Business Owners across the Midwest

Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. (BBH) is pleased to announce that Fernando Soto has been named Head of the firm’s Chicago office. In this role, Fernando will lead the multi family office practice, continue to grow the firm’s Corporate Advisory and Banking team, and further develop its network of private business owners across the Midwest. Fernando, who was previously based in New York, succeeds Tom Davis as office head.

Fernando joined BBH in 2016 and has overseen some of the firm’s largest private client relationships. In 2021, he was named to the American Bankers Association’s “40 Under 40” list.

Also joining the Chicago office is John Harms, who will be leading BBH’s Midwest Corporate Advisory and Banking practice. BBH’s Corporate Advisory and Banking team provides corporate finance advice and capital to privately held businesses.

As office head, Fernando will oversee the growth of this team, as well as BBH’s Multi Family Office team in Chicago. “Fernando brings extensive experience and enthusiasm to Chicago,” said Tom Davis, BBH Partner. “BBH has a long history of advising private businesses, their owners, and their families. We are excited to be expanding our team to serve this important community in the Midwest."

“I’m excited to move to Chicago, to join and lead our outstanding team here, and to immerse myself in the community of private business owners across the Midwest,” said Managing Director, Fernando Soto. “Our people are what set us apart and provide the exceptional service we’re known for.
