SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EQ Office, Blackstone’s US office portfolio company, today announced it has hired Merredith Treaster as its Senior Vice President, Northern California to be based in San Francisco.
In this role, Ms. Treaster will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the existing Northern California portfolio totaling 1.4M square feet across San Francisco, Silicon Valley and San Jose, as well as help shape company strategy in the region.
“With Merredith’s proven track record as an established leader in the region and her impressive work on notable projects in San Francisco like Salesforce Tower and Park Tower, she is an ideal fit for this role,” said Alex Vouvalides, Chief Executive Officer at EQ Office. “We continue to believe in The Bay Area as a top innovation center driven by an exceptional talent base. Having someone of Merredith’s caliber to oversee the region will maximize value in our existing portfolio while positioning EQ for the future.”
Ms. Treaster brings nearly 20 years of experience as a veteran commercial real estate investment professional. She most recently served as a Managing Director for Nuveen’s U.S. Strategic Lab Vehicle where she was responsible for overseeing investment opportunities and performance nationally, and previously served as Nuveen’s Northwest Regional Head of Office, overseeing transactions and asset management in the Bay Area, Seattle, Denver, and Salt Lake City. She previously worked at Hines, Tishman Speyer, and The John Buck Company overseeing acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development, and asset repositionings.
“I’m excited to leverage my expertise and enthusiasm as part of the talented EQ team in a region where I’ve lived and worked for more than two decades. Much has changed about the office sector over the course of my career, but I remain firm in my belief that the training, mentorship, and casual collisions that occur when people are ‘in person’ are essential for innovation and progress. A physical space must be additive to the employee experience for collaboration to occur, and the EQ team is uniquely positioned to deliver best-in-class office environments. I am looking forward to the opportunity to create value in the Bay Area,” Ms. Treaster said.
