BioMed Realty Appoints Charlie Piscitello as the Company’s Chief People Officer

Highly Accomplished and Experienced Human Capital Executive Joins BioMed Realty’s Leadership Team

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BioMed Realty, a leading provider of real estate solutions to the life science and technology industries, announced that Charlie Piscitello has joined the company as Chief People Officer.

In this role, Mr. Piscitello will lead the Company’s human resource related functions, including talent management, culture, and diversity, equity, and inclusion, reporting to Tim Schoen, CEO of BioMed Realty, and will be based in BioMed Realty’s San Diego headquarters.

Mr. Piscitello joins BioMed Realty with more than 30 years of experience leading human capital and talent management for companies in a range of industries, including medical technology and consumer brands. Mr. Piscitello most recently served as Chief People Officer at Acutus Medical, an arrhythmia care company based in Carlsbad, CA. Through the past four years, Mr. Piscitello played a key role in growing Acutus Medical’s workforce from 100 to 350, while also implementing culture, engagement and performance platforms to guide the organization through its rapid expansion.

Prior to joining Acutus Medical in 2019, Mr. Piscitello was the Chief People Officer for Petco, and President and Chairman of the Petco Foundation, where he helped establish a thriving culture and led the company’s growth for over a decade. Mr. Piscitello has also held leadership roles at Boston Scientific, Abbott, First Data Corporation, Gateway Inc., and Coors Brewing Company. Mr. Piscitello earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from Marquette University and is also a graduate of the Newfield Network Coaching Program for Personal and Professional Mastery.
