Chris Boynton Named Battelle Chief Financial Officer

COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Battelle President and CEO Lou Von Thaer recently announced the appointment of Chris Boynton as Battelle’s next Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer following an extensive, nationwide search.

Boynton joins Battelle after working 20 years at Raytheon Technologies (RTX) where he served as CFO of the company’s $15 billion Missiles and Defense business, a 29,000-employee business segment in the corporation. Previously, Boynton served in a number of capacities at Raytheon Technologies, including Vice President for Raytheon’s Enterprise Services organization and Senior Director of Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis.

“Chris will be a tremendous asset to Battelle,” said Lou Von Thaer, Battelle President and CEO. “We wanted someone with experience and knowledge in government contracting, finance operations and P&L management. Chris has all of those skills and will be able to put them to work immediately for Battelle.”

Chris holds a master’s degree in finance from Suffolk University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of New Hampshire and is a CFA Charterholder. He will be relocating to central Ohio from the greater Boston area.
